Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Commitment
ThumbConnect is a public square - a shared place to play, ask, share, connect, and discuss. We believe your information belongs to you. We collect only what is needed to run the square, and we do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. No third parties. No tracking. No surprises.
What We Collect
We collect the minimum needed to operate the platform:
- Your nickname. This is your public display name on the square. It is how your posts, replies, and activity are shown to others.
- Your email address - only if you choose to register a custom nickname. It is used solely to recover your nickname, and it is never shown publicly.
- Your IP address. Used only for abuse prevention (rate limiting). It is never shown publicly and never shared.
- Your content. Posts, replies, listings, responses, board content, and game moves you choose to submit.
- Images you upload. Processed for display with embedded metadata removed.
Identity and Accounts
You can participate in two ways:
- Anonymous. An auto-assigned nickname (like
tc123orgamer456) with no email and no personal information attached. There is no account to recover or delete. - Registered. A custom nickname you choose, tied to an email address you provide for recovery. Your email is stored only so you can recover your nickname if you lose it.
Your account is held in a cookie on your device. That cookie identifies you on the square; it is not used to track you elsewhere or to build an advertising profile.
Contact Information
Your email address is private by default and is never displayed publicly, never shown to other users, and never used to contact you except to recover your nickname.
No Third Parties. No Tracking.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third party for any purpose. Not for marketing. Not for advertising. Not for data brokers. We do not run analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
Your Images
Images you upload are processed for display - resized and converted - and embedded metadata (such as location or device information) is stripped from them. We store only the processed image.
How Long We Keep Data
- Your content is kept so that conversation history remains intact. Public contributions may persist after you stop participating.
- Content may be removed in specific cases: a board creator can delete topics, replies, or their entire board; and we may remove content for serious violations (such as illegal content) or in response to a valid copyright notice.
- Your email is removed when you deactivate your account.
- IP addresses are used as rate-limit counters to prevent automated abuse.
Account Deletion
Account Deletion and Public Contributions
When you delete your account, ThumbConnect removes your registered email address and disables access to that account. Your chosen nickname may be retained alongside your previous public posts, replies, and discussions to preserve conversation history and continuity. Your nickname will be marked "No longer participating" and cannot be reassigned to another user.
Private information is handled separately according to our Privacy Policy.
Deleting an account ends your participation; it does not necessarily erase the history of your public interactions. Disclosing this policy does not override any applicable privacy or deletion rights.
How to delete your account
- If you have a registered nickname, deactivate it from your account page. This removes your email and marks your nickname "No longer participating."
- Anonymous nicknames carry no personal information, so there is no account to delete.
- For any other request about your data, contact [email protected].
Your Rights
- You can update the email address on your account at any time.
- You can deactivate your account at any time - no questions asked. This removes your email and marks your nickname as no longer participating.
- Anonymous nicknames carry no personal information and therefore have no account to delete.
Children
ThumbConnect is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
